Adiga, Aravind

Adiga won the Booker Prize straight out of the traps with his involving, 'The White Tiger'. At first, it seems as if the novel will be compromised by an unnecessary structure - it's done as a series of letters - but it overcomes this device with its deep rooted anger at the state of India. It really is a refreshing take on the country's woes. Especially, when looked at against the likes of Slumdog Millionaire which papers over the country's serious deficiencies.
